Located southeast of Phoenix, Queen Creek is a town of approximately 30,000 residents that combines the best of the Old West with the comfort and amenities of big city living. Based on the results of a 2014 Queen Creek citizens' survey, 91 percent of the town's residents rate Queen Creek as an 'Excellent/Good' place to live. Queen Creek residents enjoy the balance between quiet, rural life and the convenience of one of the nation's largest metropolitan areas.

School Report Card

Public school students in Queen Creek are served by the Queen Creek Unified School District. Within the district are five elementary schools, one junior high, one middle school and one high school. The district serves more than 5,000 students annually and consistently receives high marks from the state, with all but one campus rated "A". In addition to public schools, Queen Creek is also home to several highly rated charter and private schools, including Benjamin Franklin Charter School and Patriot Academy.


The largest shopping center in Queen Creek is Queen Creek Marketplace. Featuring an area of more than one million square-feet, Queen Creek Marketplace is home to approximately 40 shops and a variety of dining options. In addition, the Marketplace is also where you'll find a Harkins Theatres complex. Not far away, neighboring Gilbert is home to SanTan Village, which features a children's play area including a splash pad, community rooms for rent, and free WiFi in addition to its roster of shops and eateries.


Queen Creek is located just south of the Loop 202 Freeway which serves the East Valley and provides access to Interstate 10. North of Queen Creek is Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, a busy commercial-aviation regional hub airport located in South Mesa. Forty minutes to the northeast of Queen Creek is Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. No public transportation currently exists in Queen Creek.


In 2013, Queen Creek's population was 29,673. The median resident age was 29.8 years old, compared to Arizona's average of 33.8 years old. The estimated median household income was $83,336, much higher than the state's average of $47,826. The median house or condo value was $200,021, also higher than Arizona's median of $151,500.


The largest industries in Queen Creek are travel and tourism, retail and wholesale, and transportation and warehousing. Among the latter categories, the largest employer is C.R. England, a national refrigerated carrier. Queen Creek neighbors several of the largest cities in the East Valley including Chandler and Gilbert, who are home to a number of both international corporations and local Arizona businesses.


Some of the most beloved activities for Queen Creek residents surround taking advantage of the area's gorgeous desert landscape. The town attracts horse lovers since the Horseshoe Park and Equestrian Centre offers a myriad of events including jumping, barrel-racing, roping and more. For those who like to explore the open trails, there are a variety of hiking options in the nearby San Tan, Goldmine and Superstition Mountains.


Within Queen Creek is a branch of Banner Health Center, which provides primary care to many residents of Queen Creek and nearby San Tan Valley. The nearest hospital to Queen Creek is Banner Ironwood Medical Center, located just southeast of the town in San Tan Valley. Banner Ironwood features full emergency room services, general surgery, heart care, an intensive care unit and an extensive range of other services. In addition, the Phoenix metropolitan area is well-known for its wealth of world-class healthcare services.
