As with the rest of the city, Southeast Chandler’s history is tied to cotton and farming, but nowadays, the area’s strengths are focused on innovative technology, lifestyle amenities, great schools and a highly educated workforce. High-tech innovators such as Intel and Orbital Sciences call Southeast Chandler home, as do other leading-edge companies located along the Price Corridor. School Report Card

Along with other private and charter schools, Southeast Chandler is home to several public schools including Basha Elementary, Fulton Elementary and Ryan Elementary plus Basha High School and Hamilton High School. As with any student in Arizona, families can participate in open enrollment and explore schooling options in other cities such as Mesa, Gilbert, Tempe and Phoenix. 

ASU’s Polytechnic Campus is in nearby Mesa, while one of Chandler-Gilbert Community College’s four locations is in Chandler. Across Chandler, there are a number of private faith-based schools including East Valley Jewish Day School, Seton Catholic High School, Chandler Christian Academy, Valley Christian High School and Risen Savior Lutheran School.


Southeast Chandler is just a few minutes’ drive from Chandler Fashion Center, home to popular shopping venues such as Apple, Coach and Michael Kors, as well as nationally known anchor stores such as Macy’s, Dillard’s and Nordstrom. Not far away, Downtown Chandler’s tree-lined square features unique Arizona-style stores where you’ll find a plethora of charming boutiques and cozy restaurants.


Southeast Chandler is just a short drive from I-10, Loop 202 (San Tan Freeway), Loop 101, U.S. Highway 60 and State Route 87. For air travel, Chandler's municipal airport -- one of the busiest municipal airports in Arizona -- serves the needs of general aviation and corporate aviation users, while Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is just a freeway's drive away.


In 2013, the overall population of Chandler was listed as 249,000-plus, with a median age of just under 34 as compared to the median age in the state of 36. Chandler enjoys a higher than state-average median household income of more than $81,000 (as of 2012). In March 2015, housing units numbered 98,632, while in 2012, the estimated median house or condo value was $201,400. At the time, the estimated median value in Arizona was $151,500.


Southeast Chandler boasts a bustling high-tech employment corridor, the Ocotillo Business Park, the Queen Creek Commerce Center and many more potential employment venues. Across Chandler, there are a number of employers with more than a thousand employees each, a small sampling of which includes Intel, Avnet, PayPal, Orbital Sciences, Verizon Wireless, Microchip Technology and Freescale Semiconductor. A growing manufacturing sector across Chandler employs more than 45,000 workers and more than 75 percent of them are employed in high technology fields, compared to the national average of 15 percent. 


Southeast Chandler is where you'll find Tumbleweed Park, Ocotillo Golf Course and the Snedigar Sports Complex, among other recreational venues. Not far away in Downtown Chandler, the Chandler Center for the Arts hosts a year-round calendar of performing arts events featuring numerous traveling productions, nationally known musicians, local arts organizations and Chandler Unified School District events. Across the city, Chandler boasts a plethora of recreational amenities including six aquatic centers and 50-plus public parks that enhance its reputation as being an outdoor-oriented, family-friendly city. 


The entire Southeast Valley is a hub of high-quality healthcare, to wit: Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers and Dignity Health Chandler Regional Medical Center are both in Chandler, while Banner Heart Hospital, Banner Baywood Medical Center and Banner Desert Medical Center are all in neighboring Mesa. Meanwhile, Banner Gateway Medical Center is in nearby Gilbert.
